Safety of the participating students and instructors is paramount.  In order to take part in the course the student will be required to sign a waiver form that, among other things, acknowledges acceptance of the risk involved in riding a motorcycle.  The form also acknowledges understanding that if the student is a danger to themselves or their classmates they will be asked to withdraw from the course.  If the student's lack of progress impedes or interferes with the class they will be asked to withdraw.

The basic rider course has proven effective for many thousands of students nationwide.  Over 90% of students who take the course earn a completion certificate.  There are some, however, that for various reasons are not able to maintain adequate control of their motorcycle or who learn at a slower pace than is required in the course.  Safe controlled riding demands a combination of physical and mental skills being used in tandem and not everyone is capable of that level of coordination.

The instructor will do everything possible to get the student through the course, but if they prove to be a hazard to themselves or other class participants, or if they begin to inhibit the progress of their classmates, it is better for all concerned that they withdraw from the course.

Refunds are not given to students who are unable to complete the course.
